Competitions

Competitive procedures play an important role in Grasbrook in order to secure urban and open space planning qualities and to develop functional, technical and social ideas. The initial conditions from the history of the site must be taken into account as well as future demands for sustainability and innovation. It is also important to sound out the perspectives of a wide range of stakeholders and feed them into the planning process.

Moldauhafenbrücke

The first concrete construction project in the Grasbrook district to qualify through a design competition is a pedestrian and cycle path bridge. A design competition was held in 2023 for the new Moldauhafenbrücke, which connects Moldauhafenquartier with Hafentorquartier .

Competitive dialogue 2019 and 2020

For the new Grasbrook district, overarching ideas for the urban and open space design of the entire area were developed as part of the two-phase competitive dialogue in 2019 and 2020. Planning workshops also offered the opportunity to incorporate the ideas and comments of the public.
