A forward-looking district for Hamburg is being created in Grasbrook, with space for living, working, leisure, and innovation. Construction developments in the area are progressing. From preparatory measures and infrastructure work to building construction projects, the individual steps are being transparently documented and monitored. Profiles of individual measures
New access road to O’Swaldkai terminal
October 2024 – end of 2027/beginning of 2028
The new access road to the O'Swaldkai terminal is being built to reorganize traffic flow in the port. In the future, it will provide access to the O'Swaldkai port terminal and the Edeka fruit warehouse, running along the port railway track and connecting to the Veddeler Damm via the Hansabrücke bridge.
The new traffic routing will Hafentorquartier space in Hafentorquartier , creating the conditions for the development of new commercial space in the district.
The work includes clearing the site, investigating for unexploded ordnance, earthworks, and pipe and road construction.
